Reviewing Investigations Requested by Other Professionals

At Kingswood Surgery, our primary focus is to provide comprehensive care to our patients. We understand that long waiting times between hospital appointments is frustrating, and we empathise with the challenges this presents.

Our Policy

Our practice is not responsible for reviewing investigations that have been requested by other professionals, such as hospital consultants or specialists. This policy is in place to ensure that we can dedicate our time and resources to our core responsibilities and provide timely care to our patients.

Impact on Appointments

Reviewing investigations requested by others would significantly reduce the availability of appointments for our patients. Our GPs need to focus on their primary duties, which include diagnosing, treating, and managing the health of our registered patients. Diverting resources to review external investigations would detract from this essential work at a time where appointments are already limited.

Communication of Results

Rest assured, if any investigation results indicate something urgent, you will be contacted promptly by the healthcare professional who requested the test. They are responsible for reviewing and acting upon the results, ensuring that any necessary follow-up care is arranged.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy. By adhering to these guidelines, we can continue to provide high-quality care to all our patients.
